Americana singer-songwriter Renée Wahl fought her way past about 90% of 7500 entrants from 80 countries to reach the semi-final of the Unsigned Only international songcontest. Her entry in the AAA group, ‘Keeping You for Mine,’ is a dark tale of twisted love and sinister obsession. The tune is now vying for a place in the final, due the be announced in July 2012, with the winners to be announced in August 2012.

“I feel already honored by this semi-final place for my song,” said Renée. “And the possibility of it being heard by some of my musical favorites like Robert Smith and Cyndi Lauper is extremely exciting!”

The final selection of songs will be presented to a panel of expert judges, including Robert Smith (The Cure), Craig Morgan, Cyndi Lauper, Kelly Clarkson, Charlie Daniels. The grand prize winner will receive $5,000 in cash, several additional prizes, and one-on-one mentoring by an elite group of record company executives.
