Single Review – Georgia Mud – Joanna Smith

Lots of artists are showing their love for Georgia these days. After Josh Kelley‘s ‘Georgia Clay’ and Keith Urban‘s ‘Georgia Woods,’ Joanna Smith now sings about ‘Georgia Mud’ on her second single.
While the lyrics are fairly insubstantial, they are also endearing and allow Joanna to reminisce about a summer love from a more simple past. Her warm vocals are perfect for telling this kind of song.
The song is filled with fiddle, mandolin and acoustic guitar and drives forward on a soft, unobtrusive beat. This is not the next classic but it is a solid uplifting country tune. ‘Georgia Mud’ has every element a radio hit needs and should get good airplay, introducing Joanna to even more country fans.
