At the 2012 Americana Honors & Awards, the coveted Album of the Year Award was given to This One’s For Him: A Tribute to Guy Clark. The award was presented by Rodney Crowell and Brandi Carlile following Guy Clark‘s performance of ‘My Favorite Picture of You’ for which he was joined by Verlon Thompson and Shawn Camp.
The tribute honoring the masterful songwriter was produced by GRAMMY-winning producer Tamara Saviano and Songwriter Shawn Camp, who is a frequent Clark collaborator.
33 Americana artists, who all cite Clark as an influence, lent their voices to the project and joined a core band comprised of Shawn Camp, Verlon Thompson, Jen Gunderman, Lloyd Maines, Glenn Fukunaga, Mike Bub, Larry Atamanuik, and Kenny Malone.
The 30-track double album is available everywhere good music is sold and part of the proceeds benefit the Center for Texas Music History at Texas State University, San Marcos, Texas.
