CMA Fest Show Review – Dave Pahanish – June 10, 2011

I started all this as a music fan so of course I love the country stars but, for me, the songwriters are stars shining at least as bright. Closing procedures at the Hard Rock Café stage on Friday, June 10, was Dave Pahanish with his band The Rust Belt. Pahanish is responsible for some big hits already and with his writing talent I don’t see that string of chart success ending any time soon. I had seen him play a few songs at the Monday night Podunk Session at 3rd and Lindsley but this was my first time seeing the band. We were treated to rough-around-the-edges country, Americana with a dash or rock. But the show was to get even better. Things like this only happen in Nashville. After spotting Sarah Buxton in the crowd, Dave invited her up to help him out on recent Keith Urban #1 ‘Without You’, which Pahanish co-wrote with Joe West. Great stuff! Check out the video and photos below.

Keep up with Dave Pahanish via his MySpace page.
