Single Review – Tomorrow – Chris Young

Just having celebrated his third consecutive #1 song, Chris Young is ready to climb the charts again with new single ‘Tomorrow.’
The song is the first track to come off upcoming album, NEON, due out this summer, and tells a familiar story. We find the protagonist swearing this time he’s really going to get out of the destructive relationship he’s found himself caught up in – Tomorrow, I’m gonna leave here/I’m gonna let you go and walk away/like every day I said I would
The strength of this song is all in the production. The let-down are the lyrics which are far too generic. Not one detail offered as to why exactly he thinks this relationship is so bad, you never feel this guy has really come to a new understanding and will really leave this time. But acoustic and electric guitar, fiddle, steel and mandolin all combine into a contemporary country ballad and make this a very enjoyable song indeed.
I see no reason why ‘Tomorrow’ won’t be Chris Young’s fourth consecutive #1 hit.
