Single Review – ‘A Little Bit Stronger’ – Sara Evans
15 years ago Liv Carter 1

Sara Evans returns to country radio with a song covering a topic she knows something about – getting back on your feet after a break-up.
The mid-tempo tune, ‘A Little Bit Stronger,’ starts out mellow but, like its female protagonist, grows increasingly confident as the song goes on. Starting the slow climb out of heartache, the woman goes about her daily business, soon to realize she will be able to leave the broken relationship behind. ‘I know my heart will never be the same/but I’m telling myself I will be ok’ sounds the emotionally mature triumph.
The alternately delicate and powerful production works very well with Sara’s voice who pours just the right amount of emotion in her performance which reflects all the nuances of emotion one tends to deal with at this time.
After many I-can’t-live-without-you songs, it’s great to hear self-confidence in a break-up song, especially from a female singer. ‘A Little Bit Stronger’ deserves to be a hit and Sara Evans deserves to be returned among the country hit-makers.
