Concert Review – Sons of Sylvia – Fedex Forum in Memphis, TN

As the concert started, I knew Sons of Sylvia were a trio of brothers, but I had never heard any of their music or anything about them. Their name was familiar and that was it, so I had no expectations when the concert began. They came onto the stage – looking great! They slightly reminded me of some of the cast of the Twilight series which got my attention right away.

Instantly, Sons of Sylvia, who were opening for Carrie Underwood, rocked the Fedex Forum with a cover of Led Zeppelin’s “Rock ‘N Roll!” They played several songs from their album “Revelation” including the title song “Revelation“, which was unbelievable! They performed “Love Left to Lose”, “Give Me Love“, “50 Ways” and their latest single “I’ll Know You”. Their rock sound took me back a few years as they had a hint of Bryan Adams and a touch of Bon Jovi. The crowd was excited when they reveiled that they had visited Elvis’ home, Graceland and I loved the “TBC” shirt Adam was wearing. When they performed the Jam Session, I was blown away again at the enormous talent and versatility of this band. Their live performance had the Memphis crowd on their feet.

Sons of Sylvia definitely earned some new fans, as I came away from the concert a fan myself. There was a huge line of excited fans waiting in line for an autograph or picture. I bought the Revelation CD, met the band and I am looking forward to seeing them again, hopefully soon!
