Single Review – Heart Like Mine – Miranda Lambert

Miranda Lambert had a great 2010 and there is nothing to suggest 2011 will be any less. She starts the year off by releasing a new single, ‘Heart Like Mine.’
With free-spirit lyrics, the song deals with accepting people for who they are and allowing them to make choices which may not fit the prevailing ideals. The chorus opens with the declaration “I heard Jesus he drank wine and I bet we’d get along just fine.” The message, the melody and the sound makes this an unmistakable Miranda song.
One of the problems with this single is that it’s over so soon, you are left feeling there was more to say. And like all tracks on Revolution, it suffers from too much noise. Starting out with a friendly acoustic sound, the track comes close to ‘wall of sound’ in places, threatening to drown out Miranda’s voice.
Following the glorious put-down on ‘Only Prettier,’ ‘Heart Like Mine’ is a simple message-song which will add to Miranda’s list of #1 hits.
